Courts Automation:
Case Flow Management
Background
Judicial system in Pakistan has been
in dire need of electronic information development. Several
formal and informal efforts from various quarters have been
initiated. Relationship of Trees with legal software development
dates back to 1989 when Asif Ali Khan, CEO Trees started
developing software applications for Patent and Trade Marks
sectors. Later after the incorporation of Trees Software
in 1991, the efforts were formalized to take a specialized
course. Moving along the course Trees contributed in The
Asia Foundation and Asian Development Bank’s various
projects in the last eight years.
Starting our journey in 1995, developing a legal reference
material resource involving State Bank Circulars, Foreign
Exchange Manual and Pakistan code, the company kept on moving
on a steady course.
In 2002, in one of the projects Trees worked extensively
to develop a Case Flow Management system (Details: www.ajpmol.com)
catering to the entire lifecycle of case at High Court and
Supreme Court level. The project was piloted with all the
major options including dissemination of information to
web site.
